Comics

I've been doing comics all my life, and as of 2023 I decided to throw my whole self into comics and learning to perfect my skills in that area. In 2024, I enrolled in the Comics and Narrative Arts certificate program at the Art Students League of New York. I've experimented with a variety of styles, genres, and mediums for making comics, and I'm still finding my favorites. In this section you can find a timeline of comics I've made, and see my progress as an artist. It is most certainly risky to show comics I made at the age of fourteen, but I hope sharing that growth will give me more confidence and pride in where I am now as an artist.

Printmaking

Printmaking is by far my newest medium: I picked it up almost by accident in fall 2024, and fell in love with the intentionality of the process. As an artist I have a history of being hasty with the process and attempting to take shortcuts. Printmaking forced me to learn to slow down and take my time, focusing on the method rather than the madness. Once again, within this is a timeline of my growth as a printmaker, with the works and the artist statements aside them. Someday I hope to combine my printmaking with my comics--the two could be complimentary to each other and I'm excited to learn how to do that.

Painting

I am the first to admit I'm not an expert painter. Out of all the things I do painting is the one that enables my mistakes the most--and potentially the medium I love the most. I'm self-taught in oils, and I have minimal experience in watercolor, but I find painting to be the easiest form of expression for whatever thoughts are flying through my head.
